Lisa L. Dickson, President of Decorating In A Day
Corporation is the first interior decorator to
receive the designations of Interior Redesign
Specialist, Certified Staging Professional, and One
Day Decorating and Staging Professional in the
Tri-County area in which she resides. As a qualified
member of the
Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS),
the
Certified Staging Professionals (CSP), the
One Day Decorating Alumni Association (ODDAA),
and an affiliate member of the
Interior Design Society, Ms. Dickson has been
trained by some of the nation’s top authorities in
interior redesign, real estate staging and interior
decorating.
Lisa is an award winning stager having won two
titles at the International Certified Staging
Professional’s conference held each year in Toronto
Canada. Being judged by her peers, Lisa won the 2006
“Best Occupied – No Budget” category and the 2007
USA title for Staging Innovator of the Year. With
over 160 hours of hands on instruction in spatial
planning, furniture and accessory placement, color
planning, and buyer behavior, she is considered both
a national and local expert in her field.
In addition to the extensive professional training
in interior redesign and real estate staging, Lisa
graduated Magna Cum Laude from Youngstown State
University with a bachelor’s degree in business
administration majoring in finance and worked as a
business appraiser prior to opening Decorating In A
Day Corporation in 2005. Her background in finance
has enabled her to work within her client’s budgets
and assist her clients to make informed decorating
decisions that will produce a long term return on
investment.
Ms. Dickson has appeared in local print media
discussing the principles in interior redesign and
real estate staging and published the article
“Preparing a Home for Sale” in the Cortland News as
well as several articles in the Tribune Chronicle’s
special publication All About Home. She has also
been featured twice on WFMJ Today, the valley’s
number one rated morning show for both redesign and
staging. Lisa is a sought after speaker, having
taught classes to real estate brokerages, women’s
groups and clubs in both the Shenango and Mahoning
Valleys on topics such as staging homes, holiday
staging tips, one day decorating, accessorizing, and
various other decorating topics.
Lisa regularly attends national and international
conferences for continuing education, and has been
able to share design philosophies with celebrity
designers such as Anne Maurice, TV’s House Doctor,
Dewey Sadka, author and color expert, Lee Snijders
of the hit HGTV show Design on a Dime and Margi Kyle
the Designing Doctor.
